Should you be experiencing financial difficulty, please contact us and we will try to assist you. We want kids playing rugby and will do what we can to support our families.
It's important to note that the registration fee is broken into several parts with Randwick Magic, Sydney Junior Rugby Union, NSW Rugby Union and Rugby Australia each receiving a portion. This covers all participation costs including players kit, balls and field equipment, training, field hire, match day officials, management of competitions and all insurances. Given a large portion of the fees are paid out by the Club on a non-refundable basis, it follows that, unless a team is withdrawn prior to the commencement of the competition, refunds cannot be offered.
Players need to wear plastic-studded rugby boots to all training sessions and games. Mouthguards are compulsory at training and in games. Headgear and padding is optional and as per player preference. The girls need to play all games in the uniform they are issued with upon registration but they can train in anything they like (and often do)!
The Club has WhatsApp groups by team/age group squad, and Club updates are also sent via email. Each team/age group squad has a volunteer parent manager who will set up a team WhatsApp chat group at the start of the season. This will include reminders about training times, game times or training cancellations due to rain (it can happen, we are guided by the local council with park bookings). You can also follow us via our social accounts!
We rely on parent volunteers to coach and manage teams. Coaches need to be in attendance for training and games. Managers are mostly responsible for sharing communications updates via WhatsApp and score-keeping for games. Parents can also volunteer as touch judges, ground marshals, referees or assistance referees or simply volunteer to cook the BBQ or man the canteen at home games.
As a club that relies heavily on volunteers we do ask that parents/carers who are NOT able to volunteer to kindly make a tax-deductible donation towards supporting the club. This will go towards specialist coaching and equipment. Please follow the directions when registering.
